UPDATED!!: Double Shot ~ Oh My Gosh, It Finally Happened....

...chapter 4... page 54 last paragraph!!!!

And Double Shot is the first DMD book to have all the recipes at the back of the book.  I prefer to have them scattered throughout the book I am reading!  Just me, what do you think?

Goldy was munching these delightful cookies which she baked to calm her nerves.

My fellow DMD fan, Devan, is absolutely right!  Double Shot is SMASHING! so much development with this installment in the series!  Can't wait to start on the next title!

playing with my new kitchen toy! Kitchenaid Classic Stand Mixer in White!
erm.... cookie dough still sitting in the freezer....
OKAY!
finally got them rolls out, cut and baked!

Which Goldy's crime busting adventure are you reading....?

After finishing all my crafting obligations... and baking sessions...
managed to read The Grilling Season and nearing the end of Prime Cut
i.e. over the last three days!
Hope to bake from these two titles this weekend.

The Grilling Season ~ Babsie's Tarts

Good, plain or with a dollop of whipped cream!
I buttered the cups and the tarts came out without any mishaps! Immediately run a sharp blad around the tarts once out of the oven.
Below: make sure you let them cool sufficiently (to maintain the shape!) before removing from the pan.
I used half the following recipe:
Babsie's Tarts (page 272) of The Grilling Season
Serving Size : 24

The Main Corpse ~ Sugar-snap Pea & Strawberry Salad

While Goldy made this colorful salad to go with her Plantation Pilaf....
I made a simple onions+2eggs omelette to accompany this bright salad!

DMD @ The Secret Ingredient

Go check out The Secret Ingredient where Diane left a guest post.

I love that her husband cleans up after she has cooked. This compromise sounds pretty good to me and I'll be using in my future relationships/marriage someday. Her mantra was really interesting ("Let the food fit the mood.") It explains a lot about the food Goldy chooses for each event. I'm going to start paying more attention to this when reading the series. I really want to try mint jelly now! I love Julie & Julia movie as well and it always makes me want to get up and cook. I didn't know Diane used to be a teacher! This makes me like her even more.

Diane Mott Davidson ~ The Main Corpse's Chocoholic Cookies

Goldy baked these for General Bo, a chocoholic, who is Marla's brother-in-law (who debuted in DMD's second book ~ Dying For Chocolate); one of my favorite characters.  He treated Goldy and Arch with much kindness and lots of love! Currently on page 162!

 Yumms!

Diane Mott Davidson ~ Catering To Nobody ~ Dungeon Bars

Myke from Colorado highly recommended the Dungeon Bars; and since I did get myself a bag of dried cranberries (or so I thought!); went for it last night.

After turning my small fridge (which I use to keep all my baking ingredients) inside out.... where is that packet of dried cranberries?  got sultanas(?? when did I buy this?), got raisins, got mixed peel..... oh no! found dried cranberries at the store but must have grabbed the wrong packet!!!! Good for me that I have a handful of frozen cranberries left over from a previous bake!
A perfect cake, turned out so well!
All nice and intact, no crumbs even! Total baking time 25mins

Some into bars and some for however one likes it to be!
Good even plain...
 Great with vanilla ice cream!
An easy peachy tray bake!
